Snafu Pictures is a London based Animation Production Company established by Dan Dixon & Paul Schleicher in 2020.
Dan has produced a range of creative content; from highly successful and multi-award-winning live-action shorts to full CG animation for TV drama, games and advertising. His shorts (The Stomach, Clanker Man and Urn) have been selected for over 200 festivals worldwide and featured on sites like Will Ferrell’s Funny Or Die and Shudder.
He has worked for some of the leading animation and VFX studios including Axis Studios, Aardman, The Imaginarium, MPC and Framestore. Dan co-founded Snafu Pictures in 2020 and works as an EP across a slate of productions.
Paul has worked in visual effects and animation across television, film, advertising and games for nearly 20 years at some of the worlds leading studios including The Mill, Glassworks and most recently as Managing Director at Axis Studios in London.
At Axis, Paul was EP on multiple shows including two seasons of the hybrid production Happy! (SYFY/Netflix) as well as managing the studio where Lego City Adventures (Nickelodeon), as well as multiple game trailers, commercials and interactive projects, were produced. Paul is EP and co-founder of Snafu Pictures where he and Dan are producing a slate of original and work-for-hire shows.
Tony Orsten is an award-winning television director, businessman and successful chief executive, advisor and mentor. He has earned a formidable reputation working within the UK and international media industry for over 40 years. Tony has experience with working with some of the biggest names in Media, including management roles at ITV, Paramount Pictures, MTV and Andy Serkis’ The Imaginarium. Tony also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority overseeing the implementation, growth and development of twofour54, the first content creation and media support organisation in the Arab world. Tony consults on content, production, media, events, performing arts, media related training as well as immersive content such as XR, AR, MR and VR. Tony acts as an Advisor and Non-Executive Director – he is on the boards of several media companies, including training and development business Grand Scheme Media, innovative production company Wildseed Studios, animation producer Snafu Pictures and is Chair of social enterprise Sharp Futures CIC in Manchester. He also is a founder investor in Hopster, a curated pre-school children’s content and education platform.
Ross is a mega talent when it comes to production management. Having cut his teeth over eight years at Axis Studios as both a PM and Head of Production, Ross most recently managed the upcoming Netflix Feature, A Christmas Carol. He joined Snafu to help oversee Bad Dinosaurs and has quickly become a central member of the team, organising talented people to make amazing things!
Beatriz comes from Spain, having achieved a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration there. She is the Production Accountant on our shows and comes to us via the team at We’ll Mind Your Own Business, working closely with our in-house production teams to ensure they are managed and delivered perfectly. She loves the close relationship we have with our clients and our flexibility which mirrors her own lifestyle and means she couldn’t be more proud of the values we represent and our way of working.
Natt is our Head Writer and Voice Director on Bad Dinosaurs for Netflix. He is also working with the Snafu Production Team to develop our slate of original and adapted film and TV projects.
Before joining Snafu, he was the producer of Dan Snow’s History Hit and recently produced the Future Shocks Radio audio dramas for 2000AD. Natt’s also been on two BAFTA-winning writing teams: Have I Got News For You in 2016 and The Revolution Will Be Televised in 2013. He was an animated Vladimir Putin in Tonight With Vladimir Putin (BBC2), Sir Ian Bowler in Tonightly (C4).
Joel is a multi-award-winning Director, Writer, and Performer and one of the original creators of Bad Dinosaurs a series of short films that amassed over 40 million views on youtube.
Before joining Snafu, Joel founded Rathergood, an animation production company & humour website which was instrumental in the takeover of the internet by dancing cats in the early 2000s. He has created a catalogue of comedy, animated and live-action films, and music that has made audiences around the world whoop with delight.
Joe is the Head of Story on Bad Dinosaurs.
Joe has storyboarded for film, TV and commercials and has worked on both animation and live-action projects across genres ranging from horror, science fiction, and drama to more stylised content intended for younger audiences. Joe enjoys nothing more as a storyboard artist than bringing scripts to life and helping directors realise their vision.
Tony has many years’ experience primarily focusing on creative media. He has particular expertise in dealing with contractual and intellectual property matters. His clients include those operating in the Film and TV industries, record companies, music publishers, composers and musicians, brands, book and online publishers, authors and other creatives.
